Section 94a NSW Councils Registered Quantity Surveyor's Detailed Cost Report
New reporting apply from 4th of March 2024. Council Construction Cost Estimate for Development application. If you are building and your project exceeds $500,000 (some NSW Councils will only require a QS Report for projects over $1,000,000, City of Sydney $3,000,000) you may need a Registered Quantity Surveyor's Detailed Cost Report.

Section 94a contribution is a payment made to the council as part of the development application, this contribution is calculated by applying a percentage to the total construction cost. If the cost of construction exceeds $500,000* a cost estimate must be prepared by Registered Quantity Surveyors who are members of the Australia Institute of Quantity Surveyors; or a person who can demonstrate equivalent qualifications.
